Charley Hull wins first LPGA title

The young and wonderful Charlie Hull has won her second title since becoming a professional golfer back in 2013. Her first title was the Lalla Meryem Cup on the Ladies European Tour in 2014, and she can now add to her collection the title of CME Group Tour Championship - her first LPGA title.

Twenty year old Hull managed to finish the tournament nineteen under par to beat her closest rival Ryu So-yeon from South Korea. Starting the Florida course on her final round, Hull had a one shot lead and built upon this with six birdies, and a bogey free round, resulting in her final score being six under par 66.

Hull was commented saying that she felt good to be joining the winners of 2016 and especially winning this title at the tender age of twenty.

Hull was tied with Ryu at the sixteenth hole, but luckily for Hull Ryu missed her putt for par on the 17th, which lead Hull to take a birdie and go ahead of the other competitors and take a two shot swing. The eighteenth saw both players draw a par, resulting in Hull taking the title, for the final tournament of the year.

Hull, who is ranked 29th in the world, had a weekend that consisted of twenty-four pars, twelve birdies and no bogeys, in the 36 holes she played. Her efforts saw her win £404,891 in prize money ($500,000).

Miss Hull later went on to say that she is feeling really good at the moment, mentally and physically, and the cherry on the top for her is feeling relaxed, which she says is key for her confidence and her performance.

Let’s see what happens next season for the UK’s Charley Hull - big things are lying ahead of this bright, young star.
