Our Ambassador Laura Hobson reviewed the Camille Sweater recently. Here’s what she had to say about it.
Do you like the basket weave design of this sweater and the 3 button opening on the raglan placket? Did you undo the buttons to put the sweater on?
The design and three button opening are great - I've had a number of positive comments as it's different to the run of the mill golf sweaters. I didn't need to undo the buttons to put the sweater on which is useful as, once the weather improves a bit, it could be on and off a few times during a round of golf.
Are there any other colours you would like to see this style in? Did you like the weight of the sweater?
I have particularly enjoyed wearing a pastel colour at this time of the year - very Spring like! Other pastels or cream would be good. The sweater is a perfect weight as it fits well under my rain gear without making me too hot.
Would you like to see this sweater in 100% wool or a blend of yarns and if so, which yarns?
I am a fan of cotton as we go into the warmer weather. It's comfortable to wear on cooler days without being too warm. A layer underneath takes care of the colder days.
We feel this garment is great for golf and leisure. Where did you wear yours? What did you wear it with?
I wore mine with a white golf shirt and navy blue trousers. It's been too chilly to wear cutoffs but I have tried it at home with a pair of white pedal pushers for a very summery look. I've worn the sweater to play golf as well as afterwards in the clubhouse with black trousers.
How did you feel after your game of golf in terms of comfort and ease of movement when wearing this garment?
The sweater is very comfortable and easy to move in on the golf course. It looks good off the course as well, either with a shirt with a collar or without.
In brief, describe this garment in your own words. Please also tell us of any changes to the garment/fit of the garment you think necessary.
I like the longer length of this sweater and the relaxed fit which makes it easy to fit a layer underneath it if it's cold. It's beautifully soft and lightweight and washes well. I love the colour and have received many compliments while wearing it, both on the golf course and in the clubhouse.
